In The Past Lane - The Podcast About History and Why It Matters

About the podcast

In the Past Lane explores American history with an emphasis on its continuing influence. Edward T. O’Donnell combines historical features with interviews and discussions of books and films. The programme connects earlier events to political beliefs, economic conditions, religious practices, and social institutions. An episode may bring an author’s interpretation together with a visit to a historical site. Its central interest is how understanding the past can make the present easier to explain.
