The Takeaway

About the podcast

The Takeaway was a national public radio news program from WNYC, PRX, and GBH. Its conversations brought reporting on politics and culture together with voices from communities around the country. The archive includes interviews with authors, public figures, and people whose experiences illuminate larger social questions. Melissa Harris-Perry hosted the program during its final years, before its last broadcast in June 2023. Past episodes preserve the show’s interest in underrepresented perspectives and the connections between public events and everyday lives.
