About the podcast

99% Invisible explores the design decisions that shape ordinary life. Architecture is a central interest, but the program also considers objects and environments people may overlook. Created by Roman Mars, it draws attention to the work behind familiar surroundings. Stories examine how things came to look or function the way they do. Its distinctive starting point is that apparently unremarkable details can reveal larger histories and systems.
